Esther Nana Akosua Bruwaa Shares The Importance of Embracing Stuck Seasons in Life

Obviously, nobody wants to look stuck. No one enjoys being in this “in- between” stage. No one wants to be seen as the one who once seemed to have his/her bearings right but now has to wait. Maybe it makes us feel like weaklings and invalids.

We all do not want to be in a limbo. Most often, we do not want to be caught in a limbo because, we are of the view that, people might assume or think of us as ones who have lost their fire or momentum for purpose and obviously, we try to avoid that. So as much as we can, we try to be activity oriented to prove ourselves and our fire to others.

In marriages, relationships, businesses, ministry and what have you. We may be of the view that, we can only retain our worth in the eyes of the world if we keep the activity going; even when the activity is no longer serving your current larger community. Well, I think that we are not entirely wrong to think or live this way.

I have however come to realize a higher truth in my walk with God that I’d love to share with my broken circle.

You see, Purpose is progressive and the progression of purpose may require that we look “stuck” for a while. If we focus so much on what people may think of us in such seasons, we loose touch of what exactly we’re supposed to learn in other to serve a bigger platform as we progress.

So this is what i have learnt to do in a season of a wait or an “in-between” stage.

    1. Focus more on you and God. Trust me, the world can and will wait with their thoughts.

    2. Focus more on God’s validation of you regardless. You’ll source so much strength from this consciousness, for the vastness of the journey ahead.

    3. Know and understand that, whether you are in a season of “seemingly many activities/ proofs of your fire” or whether you are “seemingly inactive”, the treasures still remains in there, in your inner man. Harness that consciousness because it will help you skip a lot of activities that exalts “SELF” over Christ, even when you’re out of the wait.

    4. Don’t be obsessively bothered about the “little activities” that can still make you look relevant even when you are in a limbo (it could be social media appearances, posting high profiled people in your life with the intent of proving your relevance, hosting programmes, appearing at events, jumping from one pulpit to the other or being all over the place). Darling, those activities are mostly distractions in the wait. They fetch you the accolades and applauds of the world but they distract you from seeing exactly how best God needs you to show up in the next season as your purpose is progressing. So don’t bother about it. It’s quite tempting but try not to bother. You owe the world no proof of activities except to live your assignment in every season.

    5. The progression of purpose sometimes reveals to us loopholes in our journey and personal development as well. As many times as you find this, try and be honest to yourself while asking for strength from God to make it better.

Often times, we still act like we got it all figured out even when we don’t because we prefer to live in self deceit (as that, does not attack our ego).

    6. It’s okay to look stuck. There is no law against such. Many times, when we get too concerned about what others will think of us, how much they’ll think we are of no strength or how much they’ll think we’re weaklings, it is the voice of “SELF”.

It is trying to protect your name or image or just something you probably carved for yourself to always look “good and relevant”.

Rest my darling, even our perfect example, Jesus got weary and looked seemingly “stacked” for a while, as his purpose on earth progressed towards the cross.

    7. What looks like a limbo is actually progress been made in disguise. You can only realize how far you can go because you’ve come far already. So open your eyes wide, and see how great your community is becoming and how much more balance you’d need to serve in your new season.

Dear broken circle, I’d be here, loving you every step of the way.

I’m rooting for you! Stay topped up and rested! I love you!

    Xoxo
