Mr. Tenkorang, the CEO of Talk to Tenkorang, an event and marketing firm has advised musicians to work on their brand in order to attract good business deals.

He claimed that, most artistes do not get their worth for performances, because they haven’t branded themselves well. He revealed this on Obaatanpa Radio yesterday in an interview with Ogboro Naghty DJ.

Mr. Tenkorang said that any artiste that positions him or herself well by building a clean brand, will see that they have a raise in their category. He share that if you belong to the A-list artistes category, your value raises automatically even if you don’t have a hit song that is currently trending.

He said, ”We engage artists depending on the type of event. If it’s social, corporate or family event, we consider so many factors and then speak to musicians who fit the program. In terms of fees, we negotiate with you based on which category of artiste you are and your brand”.

If your brand isn’t that solid, you don’t get paid well”. He continued. ”I therefore urge all musicians to work on their brand and also put in a lot of creativity that will make Ghanaians accept their songs. If they combine these two, it will push them into the A-list category and they will attract reasonable fees for performances.” He concluded.
