CHURCH GROWTH by Papa Anaisie Yarquah
Ministry success has more to do with our faithfulness to God & our assignment than our numerical strength, what’s in our bank account and where we have preached. However, for the sake of this write up let me grant the later.
“Successful” churches seems to get more members, while “Struggling” churches lose more members… Quite funny, but honest reality!
Nobody remains in church out of sympathy to the Pastor… People love a place where there is growth, even when they don’t really know why and how it is growing… People just love success!
It is desperation for growth that makes ministers add all kinds of logic, carnality, and magic to ministry…
Many have gone to the devil to give them power to do God’s work, while others are adopting ungodly methods just to grow their churches.
Think about the above statement for a second!!!
Dear friend, I just want you to know today: Nobody can make anything truly grow, only God can make things grow…
1 Corinthians 3:6 — “Paul planted, Appollos watered…. God gave the increase…” It was God that sponsored the increase…
Until you truly give God His place, His leadership and sincerely make Him the focus of ministry, godly growth can never take place… Without the owner of the work, you will struggle, and equally invite ridicule.
Understand also that , no matter the strategies you adopt, not all churches will run into thousands. It doesn’t mean they failed. Some have been assigned to Pastor hundreds, fifties and others .
Dear minister. you don’t own the work, God owns the work! Only a foolish caretaker will want to take-over the work meant for the landlord… You don’t have the energy, the resources and knowledge of the work, more than the owner of the work… Allow Jesus remain at the Center…
The day you truly come to the understanding that it is His work, not yours, then your stress level, your ungodly desperation and your carnal competitive spirit will disappear.
Just do your very best, be faithful with what God has given you and trust God for the next level. However, if it doesn’t happen, faithfully shepherd what you have and trust God for final endorsement from the Master, You good and faithful servant, be lord over cities
