    Papa Anaisie Yarquah: Dear Pastors

    Dear Pastors:

Jesus first called you to preach the truth and to then to live the truth.

Please realize that both are important, and in that order.

If you ever find yourself falling into sin or acting less than the standard of the truth of God’s word which you know…

Never, ever, stop preaching the truth or lower the standard of God’s word in order to justify your weakness.

Satan will tell you that you are a hypocrite for preaching the truth when you aren’t doing it yourself. And the solution he will sell you is to quit preaching altogether.

    Don’t do it!

Because, you see, if you are living wrong, but yet you uphold the truth of the finality of God’s word, at least you aren’t deceiving anybody else. At least you’re not lying against the word of God.

But to do wrong and then find a way to justify it with God’s word shows that you have no plans of repentance. You are not only in disobedience to God’s word, you are emboldening others to walk in disobedience too.

Please understand that the truth of God’s word is greater than every man, including you who preach it. You are not the message, Jesus is. Don’t make yourself the centre of the word of God.

What is wrong is wrong, preach it exactly as it is in God’s word even if it condemns your own behaviour.

Don’t do exegesis to explain why what is wrong is okay and call it ‘higher revelation’

Let your own teaching be truthful enough to prick your heart if you’re not living accordingly. Let it be truthful enough to keep you uncomfortable until you adjust accordingly.

Don’t kill your conscience by adjusting the word of God to fit into your imperfect lifestyle.

Remember, there is a stricter judgement for what we preach and teach even more than what we do.

    James 3:1

My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we (who teach) shall receive a stricter judgment.

    Papa Anaisie Yarquah
