In a recent interview with FootPrint TV, hosted by the dynamic Madonna Opong, SIRJones Twum gave an insightful look into his educational journey and the decisions that shaped it.
SIRJones revealed that although he was offered admission to the University of Ghana, Legon, to study political science, he ultimately chose Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). When asked why he opted for KNUST over the prestigious Legon, Sir Jones explained that it was more than academics—it was about growth in his Christian life.
“Growing up, I had friends in Accra who often invited me to hang out and party,” SIRJones shared. “But I learned that KNUST offered an environment that nurtured students’ Christian faith.” He also mentioned how impactful gospel music on campus was at the time. Songs like Adom by Gospel Explosion of IHCF and Onoa by the POP Choir had a lasting influence on him. The release of Awurade Eei by KODA and BSU further cemented his decision.
When Madonna quipped, “So you chose KNUST because of music?” SIRJones responded, that it wasn’t just the music but that he wanted to grow spiritually and live a good Christian life.
This heartfelt testimony highlights how university choices can go beyond academics, focusing on personal development and faith.
