In an exclusive interview with Clement Afreh of CBCInc Hypes, Ghanaian gospel artiste Rejoice Otchere opened up about her latest release, her creative process, and her journey in ministry.
Rejoice Otchere revealed that the title of her new single is “Rejoice,” a song she wrote herself. The track was released on Friday, 9th May 2025, and according to her, it draws inspiration from Philippians 4:4, which encourages believers to “Rejoice in the Lord always.”
She explained that rejoicing is not something that happens by chance, but by choice. “Despite our challenges or circumstances, choosing to show deep joy and gratitude positions us to see God’s goodness in every area of life,” she said. The song emphasizes that thanksgiving, which often flows from a heart of rejoicing, is a key to accessing God’s presence. Interestingly, this song was recorded live during her annual worship event, ENCOUNTER.
Speaking on her songwriting process, Rejoice Otchere shared that inspiration often comes to her in the course of daily life—whether at work, at home, meditating on Scripture, or during prayer. She noted that songs are birthed from intentional moments with God, not just spontaneous dreams.
When asked about the message she hopes listeners take away from the new single, she emphasized that God’s will is for His children to be joyful at all times. She believes rejoicing brings strength and leads naturally to a lifestyle of thanksgiving.
The song “Rejoice” is currently available for streaming, downloading, and purchase on all major digital platforms, including YouTube.
Since its release, the song has reportedly been widely accepted by the general public. Rejoice expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support from the media, churches, fellow gospel artistes, and the corporate community.
Before “Rejoice,” her last single titled “Change My Story” was released in the previous year. She also hosts “THE ENCOUNTER,” an annual worship event that brings believers together for a time of intimate worship and live music recording.
In her closing remarks, Rejoice encouraged the gospel music fraternity in Ghana and beyond to continue seeking God wholeheartedly, stating confidently that “God will never fail if we truly seek Him.”
