Joshua Ahenkorah took Obuasi by storm on Sunday 10th July 2022 at his annual concert dubbed “Returning To Our First Love”. Joshua Ahenkorah had on his bill, the “Be lifted” crooner, MOGMusic, Ps Quame Gyedu, Alexandrah Aboagye, Ps Shadrach Kwesi Mensah, Emmanuel Awortwe, Isaac Sekyi, and the KNUST Obuasi Campus Mass Choir.

The Jeff twins did a great job organizing this event as they made sure every thing was set by 4pm, which was the advertised time for the event to kick-off. The event however started an hour later because the audience had not arrived.

After the opening prayer session, the choirs ministered in songs to open the first session of back to back ministrations.

Sunyani based Emmanuel Awortwe took the patrons through a time of worship and that was a perfect start for the programme. Everyone was on their feet worshiping. This was not a concert, but a service.

Isaac Sekyi continued with the worship session and then switched to a praise jam for the offertory and got the all to dance and praise. As usual, the front of the stage was taken over by the youth who enjoyed their time dancing in formation. By this time the auditorium was filled up.

Alexandrah started her session in a unique way, different from what we are used to when she ministers. She prayed in the language of the Spirit for a couple of minutes, and the audience joined her. As the fire caught on she led them into the arena of true worship.

She ended her session with a clarion call to all colleague ministers, present at the event and those who will watch the videos in the future to give themselves wholly to the calling of God upon their lives. Not to spend time on trivialities and forgetting that there is a deeper place in God they need to strive to reach. Here is a clip of that.

Ps Shadrach was next on stage and took it to the next level with a medley of songs from Dunsin Oyekan: Just breathe your name, Yah, and Fragrance to fire. The place was butubutu.

Quame Gyedu was next on stage with his team. He started with a free flow spontaneous worship that the audience could flow with and when at the peak, he did his rendition of Nkwagye. Aaaahh what a beautiful anointed climax that set the stage for the next item on the bill. Joshua Ahenkora2 Pastor Badu Kyenkyenhene who was already on stage for the fundraising couldn’t resist singing the song for some time before beginning the fundraising.

A man came on stage and gave a great testimony that happened that very day of how his house would have burnt down if he didn’t go back home to pick up the VIP invite, Joshua Ahenkorah had given him for the event.

Joshua Ahenkorah was up next. He started off with Nathaniel Bassey’s  “See what the Lord has done” then he moved to another phase as he sang and blessed patrons with his songs. It was so beautiful to see how everyone was singing along. This shows how much love and patronage the people of Obuasi have for this young act who has hosted this programme up to the 9th edition. He did a song with Quame Gyedu, and called up Ps Shadrach Kwesi Mensah to do his praise chops on two other songs.

Finally MOGMusic crowned the night powerfully. Starting off with “Wo y3 Onyame bi”, “Nkwangye”, “S3 wo d) w’Awurade”, then his song “Yesu” ft Joe Mettle, “Me w) Yesu a”, “Yeshua Hamashiach”. His trumpet came in at the right time. And changed the atmosphere. Next was “You reign, Kadosh”, and the audience where all captured. Then followed his trade mark song, “Be lifted”. Joshua Ahenkora3 He called Joshua Ahenkorah out, and declared a word upon his life that he would be propelled by God into the next level. God will announce Joshua Ahenkorah to the nations of the world. This was a beautiful point in the session. Next was his song “Hallelujah”, and then his new song “Your Presence”.

I was glad to have been at this event. It will be on the minds of the patrons for many months. I can’t wait for the production to be released.
