Experience an extraordinary time in the presence of God at Praise Reloaded 2023, as Joe Mettle and a stellar lineup of gospel artists took Kumasi by storm during the captivating event held at CCC Ayigya Kumasi for the second time.
Joe Mettle arrived in Kumasi on Friday, dedicating time to visit numerous radio shows and build anticipation for the event, which was scheduled for Sunday, June 11, 2023. On Saturday, he continued his promotional activities before heading to CCC for a sound check with his team.
Sunday morning saw Joe Mettle and his team visiting churches like Grace Baptist Church Amakom, Family Chapel International Susuanso, Harvest Chapel International, Living Waters Chapel AG, Maxima, and the host church for this year’s edition, Calvary Charismatic Center CCC Ayigya Kumasi.
With the production team fully prepared, Ps Jonathan Kakraba, the sound engineer led them in prayer at 4:20 pm, committing the event to God’s hands and seeking blessings and success. The team members assumed their positions, ready to contribute to the event’s triumph.
Despite the rain causing a delay in attendees’ arrival compared to the previous year, the gates opened at 4:30 pm, and the audience took their seats eagerly.
Exactly as advertised, the event commenced at 5:00 pm, with Ps Bernard Twumasi leading the audience in worship and prayer, a customary practice at Joe Mettle’s events.
The opening act, “Nsanku Pekay and the Peculiar People,” captivated the audience with their rendition of Fred Hammond’s “This is the day.” Next, Luigi Maclean took the stage, introducing a new song and leading the audience in worship for the following 20 minutes. Kweku Teye then continued the powerful worship experience, creating an electrifying atmosphere.
Efe Grace, a beloved artist, maintained the spirit of worship with captivating anthems, including her own song that resonated deeply with the audience. Her performance of “My daddy, my daddy” particularly touched the hearts of many.
Ps Bernard Twumasi returned to the stage to introduce the Nigerian artist, Prospa Ochimana, renowned for his soul-stirring tunes and mesmerizing vocals. Ochimana’s highly anticipated songs, “Out of my belly” and “Ekueme,” left the audience in awe.
Piesie Esther, the energetic and charismatic VGMA Gospel Artiste of the year, led the audience in songs of praise, expressing gratitude through her award-winning song, “Waye me yie.” Her supportive husband was also spotted, displaying his unwavering support.
Ps Bernard Twumasi once again graced the stage, skillfully preparing the audience for the main act of the night, Joe Mettle, who appeared with his team, Love Gift, donning exquisite outfits that added flair to their performance. Notably, some members of the team were selected through an audition months prior. David Tagoe (Jloopz), was their vocal director for the night.
Joe Mettle’s band, comprising Stephen Apenteng, Charlie Keyz, Bludo, Prince Matthews, Aaron Orleans, and the talented horn players, alongside his accomplished percussionist, set the stage alive with captivating music.
Joe Mettle entry song was a masterpiece. He delighted the audience with a beloved song, incorporating a creative twist to the intro, showcasing the team’s musical prowess.
The esteemed Founder of CCC, Rev Ransford Obeng, graced the event, fully immersing himself in the ministrations. His evident enjoyment, expressed through worship, movements, and smiles, touched the hearts of many. Several gospel artists from Kumasi were present, joyfully dancing at the front of the stage as the songs filled the air.
When Joe seamlessly merged “Kadosh” with other worship songs, creating a multilayered medley, the audience couldn’t help but rise to their feet, captivated by the experience.
Joe invited Kweku Teye back on stage, and together they ministered the latest song, “Me dan wo,” one of the three songs Joe Mettle wrote based on Psalm 91.
The night concluded with Joe Mettle expressing gratitude to all who contributed to the success of Praise Reloaded 23 in Kumasi. He acknowledged the production team, including sound, light, security, protocol, video, and other departments, as well as the Kumasi PR team, the gospel artistes present, and his lovely wife, Lady Selassie Mettle.
Appreciation was extended to Rev Ransford Obeng, the father of the house, and the entire CCC leadership for their unwavering support.
After the closing prayer and benediction, Joe and his team treated the audience to a final praise jam as they exited the auditorium.
