Daniel Nii Nertey Nettey, also known as Daniel Nettey, is a renowned Ghanaian gospel minister and songwriter hailing from the vibrant city of Accra, Ghana. Born to dedicated parents, Mr. Kingsley Nettey, a bible translation consultant, and Madam Vivian Lartey, an executive secretary, Daniel was raised with a strong foundation in Christ Jesus and a heart for mission.
Early Life and Education
Despite being an IT Professional, Daniel’s true calling lies in his ministry through music. He excelled both academically and spiritually during his schooling at Jack and Jill and Accra Academy. His exceptional talent and devotion to music earned him numerous accolades. After completing his studies at Accra Academy, he pursued a Bachelor of Science in Applied Computer Science Degree at Daystar University in Kenya. Throughout his time at the university, he continued to excel in academics, sports, and music ministry. Later, he obtained his Masters in IT from the Open University of Malaysia. Currently, Daniel serves as the Chief Executive Officer for NetsGlobal Ltd and works as a Senior Systems Engineer for multinational companies in the USA.
Music Career
Daniel’s passion for music emerged at an early age while attending Ernest Bruce Memorial Methodist Church in Accra, Ghana. Inspired by his God-fearing parents, particularly his grandmother, who instilled in him a love for Christ, Daniel’s music journey began. Growing up in a Christian family, he actively participated in the church choir and various music events, gaining recognition for his soul-stirring voice and heartfelt performances with groups like Shining Stars, Sing Africa, and AFRIZO.
In 2008, Daniel auditioned for the reality music show “Stars of the Future” and emerged as the 2nd runner-up. His music embodies a contemporary gospel and soul sound, characterized by his powerful voice, captivating melodies, and uplifting lyrics. Regardless of their background or faith, listeners from all walks of life find solace, inspiration, and encouragement through his ministry. Daniel’s highly anticipated project, “Thankful,” is being released in phases. The first phase commences with “Yeshua,” a reggae-infused song that promises to be a blessing to the world. Subsequent releases include “We Proclaim,” “I Need You Now” (Unplugged), “Moko Be” (Remix), and “Nakuabudu” (I Worship You).
Daniel has directed music for groups like Shining Stars (Ghana) and Sing Africa (Kenya), aiming to make a positive impact on the world through his music ministry by sharing the hope and love of Christ with all who listen. He has had the privilege of working with renowned Ghanaian gospel singer, songwriter, record producer, and multi-instrumentalist, Koda, and has been mentored by esteemed figures like the late Ola Williams, the late Min. Danny Nettey, Bishop Elijah Saforo (VBCI), Bishop Moses Eshun (Life Chapel), Bishop Eric Clarke (FFMIC), and currently serves under Dr. Kobby Sarpong (RCC).
