The legacy of Danny Nettey (1968–2016) remains an unshakable pillar in the story of Ghanaian gospel music. Widely revered as a pioneer of contemporary gospel, Danny’s voice, lyrics, and heart for ministry shaped the sound of worship across the nation and beyond.
Born in Accra, Danny’s love for music began early and flourished during his time at Accra Academy, where he became both Music Director and Scripture Union President. He later formed the group “Danny Nettey and Pals,” a ministry committed to taking gospel music into secondary schools and churches across West Africa.
Danny released three albums—Positive Change (1995), This Time (1996), and I Believe (2006)—along with powerful singles like “God Alone,” “Praise Jehovah,” and “Metease A (If I Live).”
Internationally, he graced stages with global icons like T.D. Jakes, Don Moen, Israel Houghton, Kirk Franklin, and more. Locally, he was a spiritual father to many, mentoring artists and serving at events like Joe Beecham Ministries and Nii Okai’s album launches.
Danny Nettey was more than a singer—he was a minister of revival, a vessel of grace, and a national treasure.
His memory shall forever be engraved in our hearts. For that reason, we are remembering his life and celebrating his victories at the 9th Legacy Webinar Series on 15th July 2025. Save the date and block your schedule to be part of it.
