The Milli-Ann Foundation honored outstanding students at Battor Senior High School’s inaugural Speech and Prize Giving Day on June 8, 2024, in the Volta Region of Ghana. As a non-profit organization committed to empowering youth and families, the foundation presented citations and prizes to the overall best female and male students, as well as the most creative student, recognizing their academic achievements and creative talents.
The awards ceremony aimed to encourage and motivate students in their academic pursuits. The recipients included Mariam Doe Lamptey-Quao, who was named the Best Female Student for her exceptional final exam results; Renold Nii Odartey-Lamptey, who was recognized as the Best Male Student for his academic excellence; and Osei Emmanuel Ofori, awarded the Most Creative Student for his impressive artistic talents, including a sketch of the foundation’s Ambassador.
Ms. Millicent Anim Ama, the foundation’s Ambassador, presented the awards and praised the students for their achievements. She emphasized the foundation’s belief in the potential of youth to shape the future and their commitment to empowering them to reach their full potential. The school’s administration and students expressed their gratitude to the Milli-Ann Foundation for their support and encouragement.
The event featured several distinguished guests, including Torgbuiga Patamia Dzekle VII, the Paramount Chief of the Battor traditional area, Dr. John Savior Yaw Eleblue, other local dignitaries, representatives of the Member of Parliament and District Chief Executive, priests, the headmistress and teachers, parents, and alumni.
Torgbuiga Patamia Dzekle VII also awarded the best male and female WASCE students with a sum of one thousand each to encourage their efforts and inspire others. He urged the Milli-Ann Foundation to continue their efforts in motivating students throughout the country.
